Tarek Saab is the President of Saab & Company Inc., a Texas-based corporation invested in and/or associated with five companies, namely Ark Fund Capital Management, California Burrito Company, Canonball Creative, Lionheart Apparel, and Trusted Bullion. His first book entitled Gut Check: Confronting Love, Work, and Manhood released March 1st, 2008 through Spence Publishing. A memoir of his life as a twenty-something in the 21st century, Gut Check immediately struck a chord with a broad base of devoted readers. The book went on to receive gleaming reviews through the publishing trade and Catholic media, and coupled with strong word of mouth, shot up the best seller lists of Amazon, Borders, and Barnes and Noble. A second edition of Gut Check was released by Ransom Books in December of 2008, and sold out five hardcover printings. On May 1st, 2010, Ransom Books released Gut Check in paperback. Saab spent the majority of 2008 traveling throughout the US and Canada promoting Gut Check and sharing his story with thousands of people.
Tarek rose to fame as a popular contestant on Season Five of The Apprentice, becoming the twelfth 'fired' contestant before returning to the show to assist eventual winner Sean Yazbeck. He has been prominently featured in such magazines as Us Weekly, TV Guide, Teen People, Enigma, Outreach, In Touch Weekly, Inside Pulse, The Dallas Business Journal, The Fort Worth Business Journal, National Catholic Register, The Mensa Bulletin and numerous other print and online publications. He has appeared on numerous television and radio programs promoting his various businesses and his book, and notable interviews include Imus in the Morning, The Dary Day Show, and The Derek and Romaine Show, to name a few. Tarek, who hails from New Bedford, Massachusetts, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from St. Anselm College, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Catholic University of America. After college and prior to his stint on The Apprentice, Tarek worked for Texas Instruments, where he quickly became one of the youngest employees in the company to serve as Global Marketing Manager. In that capacity, he traveled extensively throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe managing strategic opportunities for some of the company's biggest customers. In 2001-02, he played rugby for the Dallas Harlequins of the USA Super League. On the personal front, Tarek maintains a conservative and simple lifestyle. Ironically, he does not own a television and spends much of his free time reading, writing, traveling, or exercising. In 2006, Tarek married his wife Kathryn, and they have a daughter, Mariana Francesca, and a son, Sebastian Gabriel.
